Securing the future of Guyana’s wildlife through effective, sustainable management, and conservation

Our Work

Our Work

We are responsible for the overall effective management, conservation, and sustainable use of wildlife. We are mandated to manage the export and import of wildlife, conduct scientific research, enforce and monitor compliance of wildlife regulations, and promote awareness and education of wildlife issues.
Wildlife Trade

Wildlife Trade

The Commission is responsible for managing the trade of wildlife by issuing permits and licences for the import, export, re-export or introduction from the sea of any specimen of wildlife. We also govern domestic use of wildlife, whether commercial or non-commercial.
Research

Research

The Commission conducts scientific research in order to assess status of species and understand the threats facing wildlife. This helps us to develop strategies for their protection and ultimately ensure the conservation of wildlife.
