Establishment of Wildlife Checkpoints

The Guyana Wildlife Conservation and Management Commission (GWCMC) has designated checkpoints as follows:

• Charity;
• Corentyne (Springlands);
• Lethem;
• Mabaruma (Kumaka Waterfront and Brooms Airstrip);
• Mabura Hill; and
• Eugene Correia International Airport.

Officers of the Guyana Livestock Development Authorirty (GLDA) are authorised to inspect licences and wildlife being transported and endorse Wildlife Removal/Transport Permits. All persons transporting wildlife in the aforementioned areas must visit the checkpoints to have their wildlife inspected and permits endorsed.

Checkpoints will become operational on December 1, 2023.
